Lavendou - Restaurant Review
Bask in Lavendou’s warm and welcoming French countryside décor, and let yourself slip into the mindset of someone truly enjoying the moment. Rustic archways of exposed brick and lively tablecloth fabrics of blues and yellows help cement the feeling of being on holiday, and the southern French cuisine menu convinces the palate it is in another time zone. The Foie Gras En Terrine au Sauternes is a decadent expression of flavor, while the Grilled Tilapia Provencal speaks of seemingly effortless freshness. “High Tea” is also a daily event, and is another fine touch of French hospitality.

Bijoux Restaurant
Address: 5450 West Lovers Ln., Dallas, TX 75209 (Map)
Old World elegance meets contemporary charm in Bijoux Restaurant. The expansive dining space is warmed by floor-to-ceiling drapes, lit by pristine chandeliers, and polished by rich wood tones. Executive Chef Scott Gottlich has constructed dishes that measure up to the fine décor both in their elegant plating and refined construction. The prix fixe menu gives the patron a choice between three and five courses, and the tasting menu recommends a different wine for each dish. While five courses might sound overwhelming, dishes like Crispy Pork Belly with fava bean “succotash,” corn, and tomato and the “Childhood” Chocolates dessert all in one sitting invite overindulgence.

Charlie Palmer at the Joule
Address: 1530 Main St., Dallas, TX 75201 (Map)
With renowned chef Charlie Palmer’s latest installment—and his first in Texas—he brings American-French fusion cuisine to Dallas. The “breezy” themed restaurant is decorated in honor of Texas being the nation’s top producer of wind energy. The ambiance of earthy color tones and spinning turbines in the lights might just blow you away. The food might too, if you’re interested in dishes like Plancha Seared Mahi Mahi, or Surf and Swine, featuring caramelized scallops and crisp pork belly. Take home some of the fun at the connected wine shop, Next Vintage, which has selections of wine hand-picked by Palmer and his Sommelier Drew Hendricks.
